Service Reviews

What is a Service Review?

A systematic evaluation of a service, a service review aims to achieve significant innovation and improvement.

It considers strategic opportunities (more than incremental process improvement) including whether the organisation should continue to deliver the service, alternative service delivery models, financial sustainability, best practice, and links to the strategic goals of the organisation and legislative requirements.

A service review will include the use of mainstream improvement methodology, and should provide:

  • New insights
  • Bust organisational myths which results in improved decision making.

There are many benefits in conducting a service review, some of which may include significant financial savings, new revenue streams, the ability to serve significantly more customers for the same funding, improved customer and staff satisfaction, and a more effective and efficient way of delivering the service.
